Thank Goodness He's Happy!

Two posts from me in the same day? Seriously?
Anyway, we went on a family date tonight to Wendy's and then to Walmart. For the first time in a long time, Avery did not freak out wanting to either push the cart or get fish crackers in the check-out line. That was certainly a good sign.
We had just packed up our stuff into the van and began our short drive home when Avery suddenly started giggling and exclaiming, "I'm happy!!" over and over again mixed in with giggles. It is moments like these that really make him our favorite two year old in the world. - Andy

Kizzie's Jokes

So, just a few minutes ago, Kizzie told me that she blogged today and summoned me to look. I, being the obedient and downright awesome husband that I am, clicked on the link and went to take a look. I started looking at her "Brownie or Blondie" post and then turned to see her laughing heartily at her own joke. For those of you who know Kizzie, she is pretty much the funniest person she knows. I enjoy when she tells jokes in public because she usually laughs significantly more than those present. This is one of her endearing qualities. I just thought I'd share. - Andy

By the way, if you have any good memories of Kizzie's hilarity, feel free to share in the comments.

Brownie or a blondie?

Both are yummy desserts, but that's not what we're discussing today! :)

I'm pretty sure, unlike Avery, that Jack will soon be sporting some cute brown hair! When Avery was born he had dark hair, but when it fell out it was replaced with his lovely blonde barely there hair. His eyebrows were always (and still are) so blonde you can barely tell they're there. Jack was also born with brown hair, it fell out...and from what I can see the little stubby new hair is dark! Also, his little eyebrows are dark too! I think it's so fun, He's like the little dark version of Avery as a baby. I'm excited to see what he'll look like once all his hair is grown in! Andy just thinks I'm crazy, because I'm constantly examining Jack's little head...whatever... :)

So, what do you think? Am I delusional, or am I getting a brown haired boy?

Super Avery

Avery loves to put on his cape and run around jumping and bouncing off things yelling "Super Avery" followed by a thud and then "I'm okay!" He's pretty funny!

Say Cheese!

I got a smile on camera!! He was smiling at Avery while Avery was making funny noises and "singing" to him. It was really adorable! Look how Jack is staring up at Avery, I think most of the time he's pretty amused with Avery and all of his sillyness! Too cute!

Brothers

Avery loves Jack so much, he just wants to lay next to him every chance he gets. It's really cute, but sometimes dangerous. Like today when I walked in and Avery was laying right on top of Jack pinning him to the ground. Not cool.So I still have to watch carefully, but at least I know he's not intentionally trying ti hurt him! I hope...!

I just love Jack's face in this one, he was about to smile at me, but I didn't quite catch it. He sure has a pretty face though, and still reminds me so much of Avery as a little baby! And his hair has even started growing back, yay!

Tuesday fun

All through the month of August Thanksgiving Point has been having $2 Tuesdays, where it's just 2 bucks to get into each thing as opposed to the ridiculously high regular prices! I'd been wanting to go, but yesterday was the first Tuesday this month I've felt well enough to venture out! So we headed over to go to the Dinosaur museum, but as soon as we got out of the van and started towards it Avery started mini freaking out saying "not now, no dinosaurs right now" and seriously looking worried. So we decided we had to at least do something to make the drive worth it, so we went to Farm Country! Fun right? Kids love farm animals, right? Yeah, wrong.
What have I done wrong?!
He was scared the entire time, he spent most of our time like this...
Or this...

We tried to get pictures only when it looked like he was having fun...or his back was turned!
we went on a wagon ride, which he decided was okay half way through it.
And he liked the little "houses" they had for kids, he would have played there all day.
He also liked the toys inside, and kept asking to go back in and play.
He didn't even want to stand on this scale! But I made him! And no, he does not weigh 60 pounds, that thing was all sorts of messed up...it said I weighed 180, and I almost cried. Good thing I KNOW it's not right!
It was fun, even though Avery was being a difficult 2 year old, we still love him and think he's way cute!

Just for fun

My poor baby has a temporary fivehead...until his hair starts growing back...sad, but kind of funny! : )

Definition of fivehead :.

(fīv'hĕd')

1. (n.) The body part commonly referred to as the forehead, only larger or higher due to a receding hairline or facial structure.

Origins: From fore- in forehead; this sounds much like the number four. Adding one makes this a fivehead.

Examples:

How cute are these?

I want these for Jack...! Seriously, how cute are they? And how lucky am I to have a sister who can make them for me!? You're the best Sis! I could probably follow the pattern to make them...but there would be no promise that both would be the same size, or shape really. So I'll leave to the expert! :)

And if I had a girl Sis would be making these for me!

Sunday afternoon outing

Yesterday we decided to take the boys to the Provo Temple. Avery loves to point out Temples (until recently church buildings were mistaken for Temples) we drive by, so I thought he'd like to get up close to one.
He loved the fountains and all the pretty flowers. We found a nice shaded spot to put our blanket and let Avery explore things that were within our line of vision. It was so relaxing and the weather was perfect. It was one of the most relaxing Sunday afternoons I've had for a while!
I'm thinking we'll have to get out like that more often, there are so many nice parks here that we could let Avery run around. And with the weather cooling off a bit more in the evenings it's really pleasant.

There's something about...

...white onesies. I love my boys in them, they're so cute. Avery may be a little old/big for onesies you might think, but I think it's adorable!
So here are my boys in their matching onesies this morning! :)

Everyone's doing it!

Memories!
Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

More of our boys

Here are some cute pictures of the boys this week.

What's that I see??

A hint of a double chin?! WooHoo! You'll be happy to know that at the ripe old age of 4 weeks he now sort of fits into newborn sized clothes! Newborn diapers are still too big however...but we're workin' on it!

And here's another just for fun, this was Avery's doing.

Busy...busy...

The last couple of weeks have been pretty busy. After my last post Mom and I had about a week before we were flooded with more family for our reunion and Jack's baby blessing, so we had quite a bit to keep us busy getting ready for that. We also decided to go up to Salt Lake on Sunday (the 27th) to visit with Uncle Jack for a bit, we had a really nice visit and Avery loved running around in Jack's yard.

We spent the rest of the week making lists of people, food, and activities, playing online settlers, sewing a blessing outfit and matching shirt for Avery(pictures to follow soon), we weeded my front and back garden, probably shopped a little, went to a park (or two) and played some more settlers!

Then sometime in the wee morning hours on Thursday Dad and Keenan got here, Friday was supposed to be sort of relaxing while we waited for everyone else ("everyone else" was - Gram and Grandpa Hoyle, Jill and girls, Silas and Robyn, Josh and Brittany, Sarah and Kevin and Kris and kids) to get into town...then Sarah and Kevin's van broke down 40 miles away and that threw our whole day off, but it was still a good day. We did manage to can 17 jars of dill pickles in the morning though!

Saturday was our main reunion day, it was fun at the park, we ate a lot, visited, the kids played in the sprinkler and the boys (and Brittany and Alicia) played football.

Sunday was Jack's blessing and blessing luncheon, which turned out really great. We had a
great turn out for the blessing and Andy did such a great job, the blessing was beautiful!
We rented a party room at the Super 8, it was nice to have somewhere everyone could sit indoors for the luncheon, then we kept the room for the evening for an extension of the reunion.

Monday we (Mom, Dad, Keenan and me and the boys) went to Temple Square in the morning, it was a lot of fun. Avery loved helping Grandpa push the stroller and he loved how much water was on Temple Square.
Then we came back to meet everyone for lunch at Golden Corral, and went up the Canyon afterwards and hung out at a park for a couple hours until everyone from out of town had to head back to Missouri/Washington/etc.Jack Hoyle and Jack Westover (my great uncle who Jack is named after)

Mom and Dad had to come back to finish packing, it was a lot harder than I thought it would be to have Mom leave, she'd been here for 3 weeks and Avery and I have gotten used to having her here to hang out with. So yeah...I cried a lot. I'm going to say my emotions are still out of whack from having a baby, and leave it at that! Avery was pretty upset that Gramma was leaving without him. This morning he came down stairs and thought she was hiding from him, it was so cute and sad. I think it'll only take a couple days for him to get used to it, but at least today he kept asking where Gramma went. Ugh! I hate living so far away from family! Today was the first time I fed Avery breakfast since Mom got here...!

Anyway, we're trying to get back to normal, sort of. two kids is a lot different than 1! I had to go to the post office this morning so I took our monkey backpack for Avery so I could keep him close while I carried the car seat too. When we got in there he was jerking around so much that the leash part of the backpack kept pulling my arm while I was trying to fill out the address label, then he took his sandals off, threw them across the lobby, laid down on the floor and proceeded to spin in circles and squeal the entire time.
So I think we'll stay home for a while. How do you do it with more than one kid!?!?!?

I'll probably post some random pictures, from Mom's visit, over the next few days.
