Washer fun

I saw this tutorial (it's a great tutorial so I'm not even going to make my own!) when I was surfing the web this morning and decided I had to try it. had to. So I went to Harbor Freight and picked up these letter stamps and some washers( I got the Washers at Lowe's, you can buy them individually for between 10 and 15 cents), came home and made this, which took approximately 5 minutes. Seriously -

Ta Da!It was so extremely easy, I love it. There's just one thing I want to try, either finding a big enough ring to put through the washers so they would lay flat, or drill a hole in the top so I can put a ring thing through that. But I don't have a drill. As they are now they tend to flip over and end up backward.

Anyway, SO easy, SO fun, SO cheap!! Try it!

I'd like to try the mod podged/glazed ones, they're really cute too. Just take a little more time and materials.

Family home Evening at Jumpin Jacks

Last night we had SO much fun! For Family Home Evening we took the boys to a place called Jumpin Jacks, it's basically a huge room filled with those gigantic blow up toys. There were slides, obstacle courses, and a little flower gardeny type thing safe for the littler kids. It was awesome.
this picture makes me laugh! you can see Andy's head sticking out of the obstacle course. maybe it's not that funny to anyone else, but I think it's hilarious! And it was totally an accident!
Jack was unsure of it all at first, but warmed up to it about half way through our time there. He was a little small to be able to climb around by himself, but he enjoyed it I think.Avery on the other hand LOVED it. As soon as we got there he was running all over the place. He had so much fun, he just ran from one thing to another. Or went down the same slide over and over (and over...) again!Andy and I had lots of fun too, when we left Andy said he was glad we have kids so it's okay for him to go places like that and not be "the creepy guy with no kids". It was a blast, and work out! Seriously, if you want to have fun while you're working out skip the gym and spend an hour running around climbing all over the big bounce house things!Moral of the story, we want to go back! :)

Pioneer Day Festivities

This Pioneer Day we spent the majority of the day with Andy's siblings.

We headed over to one of the parks here in town, with Jon and Jacque, where they had lots of old cars, activities and crafts for the kids(the lines were long for all of them, so we just looked!), a petting zoo, Pioneer Village, Farmer's Market and a stage where there were performers off and on.There was a 1917 fire engine that the kids could climb up and sit in the driver's seat, ring the bell and get their pictures taken with their fireman hats! It was fun. And all the food there smelled SO good!

After the park festivities we headed back to our place where everyone was meeting for lunch. It was fun, and there is seriously something great about bbq hot dogs. It's the only way I can eat them.
This picture makes me laugh...what the heck is Avery doing?! It's hard to get a decent picture of him these days!
After naps we took the boys down to Chris' place to swim for a bit. then met up with a couple of Andy's brothers for dinner at the BYU Creamery. We love it there.

Water bottle sling

I saw these a few weeks ago and I've been wanting to try it out since. So yesterday I sat down and made one with some adorable fabric (totally don't know the designer or anything!) I picked up at the Missouri Star Quilt Company while I was visiting family. It's cute fabric anyway.

So here it is. I made mine reversible, which I really like. Or at least I think I do. It at least makes it nice a durable.
(thanks Andy for taking the pictures!)

I think I might make one for Avery I think he'd really like it. And it seriously didn't take long at all to make. My kind of project!

Self portraits

The other day the boys were being so cute and happy that we tried to take some pictures of ourselves. They never turn out...but Avery thought it was fun, and the boys are always cute!

Par-tay!

We had Jack's party last night (thanks everyone who came!), and I think it went pretty well...if I do say so myself!

We had it at the clubhouse in my brother in laws town home complex. It was so nice to be able to have it indoors, and a plus to have it somewhere with a pool!

We started out by swimming, followed by dinner, visiting, cake and gifts, and more visiting. It was a lot of fun!I made some cupcakes, and a small cake for Jack. They look a little ghetto...but with candy on top...they tasted good! :) I tried some cuter things, but I'm no professional. Oh well.I love birthdays, some people might think I go a little overboard...but I just have SO much fun!!
We even bought a helium tank, it was awesome. Awesome.
The cake...He was so nasty we had to hose him off in the sink.

Happy birthday Jack!!!

One Year Ago...

My Baby is 1 today!!!
It's hard to believe that a year ago Jack was just a puny 4 pounds 15 ounces. He was so tiny and floppy. He was so quiet, and he slept so much...Now he likes to play with balls, throw fits (he's good at this one!), dump out boxes of toys and then ignore them, laugh, he's getting so close to walking, he loves to play with Avery, he really likes shoes - he'll try to eat them while they're on our feet, so we have to keep them put away at
all times! He has 7 teeth, and says things that sound like yay, hi, and Dad. He's growing so fast!

Today, our 1 year old!
It seems like he learns something new every day, we love playing with him, and watching him figure things out. We're having his party on Saturday, dinosaur themed. So a post with pictures will come sometime after the weekend. Or on Sunday... :)

Mini Golf

A few weeks ago, the night before the boys and I left for Missouri actually, we went mini golfing with some friends. We went to Liberty Land in Lehi, it was a pretty fun place I think we'd like to go back sometime. All the little boys loved it, and we were lucky the weather was kind of icky so no one else was on the course. The boys mostly like running around, climbing on things and dropping golf balls right into holes. Sometimes Avery would stick the ball right next to the hole and hit it the 3 inches into the hole. He got really excited every time. After golf we went inside and played in a huge play place and giant inflatable slide. Then headed back to our place for dessert.

my camera wasn't on the right setting so the slide pictures turned out blurry...ugh!
I love Summer.
