Randomness from Missouri

First, Jack has loved playing peek-a-boo the last few days, and it's so so cute!Second - My Dad was grilling some chicken for dinner tonight and while he was away a nasty neighborhood dog stole our chicken! Seriously?! Talk about disappointing!

Third - I made an adorable table runner this afternoon, and next week I will make coordinating hot pads out of the left over fabric, I can't wait to see how it looks in my dining room!Fourth - Last night when I went in to bed I found Avery in the portable crib with Jack, and they had emptied out my suitcase and played with several messy things from my make-up bag, the homeopathic teething tablets for Jack were opened and eaten. (this morning Avery informed me he put some up his nose, to help him feel better. crazy!) They had lipstick on their faces. It was a mess. Tonight I will zip my suitcase.Unrelated to my kids - I have some of the most adorable nieces and nephews. Seriously... Check out this little beauty, I love this picture! I need to get pictures of the rest of the good looking bunch!And last, for now, Avery helped Grandpa make milkshakes for dessert. He's a little wired, but he had fun! And they were yummy, by the way!

Happy Birthday Avery!!

Avery is 3!! He's so big, smart and hilarious and sassy of course!
He got a yummy pancake breakfast, happy meal for lunch and rockin' awesome family party at the park!He was so spoiled, and he still has the present we already got him waiting for him at home. Lucky boy!

We did a pirate themed party, had juice, fudge bars and ice cream sandwiches...and it was still SO hot and totally uncomfortable! Ick! I can do without the humidity, thank you! When I took the party hat off of Avery's head it had an inch of sweat along the rim and was all curled up on the bottom, nasty.

Avery had a blast though, so it was worth it!

Where's Chuck Norris?

I'm not going to even try and catch up on what we've been doing in Missouri. We're having fun hanging out and seeing family. Avery loves playing with all of his cousins, which he calls his friends, and Jack is trying to skip naps every day.

I thought I'd blog more, but I just haven't gotten around to it. I did think this was blog worthy though...Mostly it's for Andy.

Happenings...

First, the little boys and I are going home to good ol' Missouri for a while. I'm pretty excited to go home and be close to everyone right now.
I know Andy isn't looking forward to it, so I promised to take a million pictures of everything the boys do and blog for him. I'm not taking my computer though, so we'll see how much I am actually able to blog...and how fast my parents internet is...

So here's a picture of Jack to keep everyone entertained until I can post something exciting! He really liked the treat we gave him.
Also, we got a new digital camera today, perfect timing for our trip. Our old camera was huge, and not because it was great or had any awesome options. It was just very large. So now I have a little one. We got an Olympus Stylus 1010, and I really like it so far. It's only been a day, but I think I'll love it soon!

First Campout of the summer (hopefully!)

Friday afternoon we drove up Hobble Creek Canyon (I think...?!) to have what is hopefully one of many (or just a few) campouts of the summer!

We went with our friends Jordan and Amelia, and it was not as painful as I thought it would be with 4 small boys running around. It was a lot of fun, even if we didn't have enough jackets. Next time we'll know better.

Jack did a lot of this...but he was surprisingly happy about it...most of the time!
Avery pretty much thought it was the coolest thing to go camping with Jonah!

We don't teach him these things... ...but it probably doesn't help when we take pictures, huh?

What Talent!

Yesterday we went outside and I wrote Avery's name in chalk on the sidewalk. Then he tried to erase it with a wet sponge.

Today we went outside and Avery was drawing with chalk, when he saw the partial 'A' from yesterday, so I asked him if he could draw an A. He said yeah, and then he drew 3! What a smarty!

How'd he get so big? I guess we can start working on other letters!
