Randomness

This past week I canned some peaches and pears. It's always amazing to me how few jars so much fruit fills! But it's fun to be able to do it, I think all the jars look so pretty when it's all done.Andy said goodbye to Wasatch Mental health after almost 3.5 years. He's had so many great experiences and opportunities while working there, and we've enjoyed having him work so close to home. We'll miss being able to have lunch with him so often!
Here he is with the boys the day before he finished his internship. I'm sure he'll do just as well at his next internship!Jack and Daddy were tuckered out after our Friday morning shopping trip, but it sure makes a cute picture!I finished Jack's 1 year scrapbook this week, which feels so good! I did it all digital and have already sent the file off to get printed! I'm so excited to see how it all looks once it's printed! And last, I met an internet friend in real life yesterday. That probably makes me sound totally lame. But it was a lot of fun! We've "known" each other for a few years, and she was in town this week so we met up and let the kids run around at Farm Country. Thanks for meeting up with us Amy!That was pretty much our week, somehow it seemed busier than that! :)
This week Andy starts school again, as well as his second internship. We're so excited that the end of schooling is in sight! I'm so grateful for Andy and all the hard work he is doing right now to provide for our family!

He's getting so big!

Jack walks everywhere, he climbs everything and seeming like a big boy more and more each day! One of his favorite things to do is grab a book and climb up on the couch to read it.
Wasn't he just a tiny baby last week?! :)
I have a picture very similar to this one of Avery, diaper and cape together makes a knock out outfit!

I've moved the toy shelf away from the couch since he discovered how to climb on top!

We looked so young!

Not that we're really old now...
I found this picture a few weeks ago and scanned it in. Besides our engagement pictures this is the only picture of Andy and me together before we got married. Which is odd now that I think about it, since I had my awesome .8 megapixel digital camera with me when I came out to visit...I must not have used that high tech piece of equipment to it's full potential! Bummer! :

Anyway...I sure am glad that we're not in a long distance relationship anymore, that was the pits!
I love you Andy!!!

My kind of Family Night

Last night for Family Home Evening the boys ate red vines and played outside while Andy and I made and canned salsa and peach jam. I love canning, so I was happy. Andy loves homemade jam, so he was happy. and the boys love treats and getting really dirty, obviously they were in boy heaven. It was just a fun night. And we got yummy stuff out of it!Thanks to Lauren's (Andy's brother Chris' fiance) family for the tomatoes, the salsa was dirt cheap to make. And we got our peaches at the Thanksgiving point farmer's market.

There's just something so satisfying about canning. I love it!

Yay for Avery!

Today was Avery's last day of swim lessons. He did so great. He was a little nervous about some of the things he had to do, he didn't love putting his head under the water. But, he did do it! So I'm happy. And he didn't ever have any melt downs, so I consider it a success!AND...today he went down the huge water slide, and LOVED it! Woo Hoo! I'm just so excited he did so well. He tends to be a little scared of things. We're working on helping him not be so afraid of things so this is a step in the right direction!
(right after coming down the slide, they were too fast so I missed getting a picture of him coming out!)
We're going to go swimming tonight when Andy gets home from work, and Avery is so so excited to go down the slide again!

So, yay for Avery for finishing swim lessons and doing so well! He sure is getting big, I can't believe I have a kid who did swim lessons on his own!

Temple, Safari and a Party!

This past weekend we went on a mini-vacation to Cedar City. It was a lot of fun, we left on Thursday and stayed until Sunday afternoon. We wanted to do some stuff we hadn't done down there before. It only took us 4 1/2 years to branch out. :) We always have a lot of fun visiting my brother and his family, even without the extra stuff. Drop us at any DI and we're good! :)

On Friday we loaded up and drove to Saint George. We went to the St. George Tabernacle, and had a very condensed tour. It's not easy doing some things with 5 small boys! It was a very pretty building and we wished that we would have been able to take a little bit longer to look at it and learn the history. Maybe in 10 or 15 years we'll be able to really enjoy a tour somewhere! After that we picnicked at a park and the boys played for a bit. Then we headed to the temple to watch the Joseph Smith movie and walk around the Temple grounds. Good thing we were the only ones in the theater room at the time. the boys had a hard time sitting still. Jack spent most of the time crawling around, and Avery and Ryan were playing dogs I think. It was a great movie though, I'd love to see it again.Saturday we drove to Kolob Canyon, part of Zion Nat'l Park, and hiked one of the shorter trails. I was a little worried about our boys and how they would fair. But they did really well. Most of the trail was decent enough to push Jack in the little stroller. We eventually had to ditch the stroller and carry him. But it wasn't bad. Avery insisted that we were actually on a Safari. He kept saying things like "This sure is a Safari", "Mom, we're on Safari!" and "What a good Safari".He thought it was great! He also loved it when we found a cactus that resembled Mickey Mouse! It was a Gorgeous Hike, we really had so much fun!

Saturday was Ryan's 3rd Birthday Party, his birthday was actually Sunday. Robyn did an adorable Blues Clues themed party, complete with a pin the flag on the mailbox game, a paw print cake and sugar cookies with paw prints on them. All the kids got handy dandy notebooks and crayons, it was fun! Though I think Avery's favorite thing at the party was the little stream that ran through the park, he spent so much time playing in it, he was totally soaked when we left but he loved it!We spent the remainder of our trip just hanging out, we played a game, at lots of food and talked. It gets a little crazier every time we get together, but with 5 boys under 5...that's what we get I guess. It sure is fun to see them having so much fun together though. Even with all the accidents that happen when they're all playing together. It's been fun for Avery to be able to play with them so often. And now back to real life. Phone calls, cleaning, callings, and hopefully some more fun before Andy starts school in a couple weeks!

Swim lessons

**3 posts today, so keep scrolling down!**

Avery started swimming lessons today for the first time ever. I was a little worried he'd freak out. He tends to be afraid of a lot, and recently he's started telling us he doesn't want to go in the "big pool" because he doesn't want to "sink, and stuff". His words.

But he loved swim lessons today! He's also in the same class as his friend Jonah.this one kind of looks like she's trying to drown him. She's not. :) He was a little nervous at first about laying his back.

Andy loves it...

...Sometimes Avery thinks he's Harry Potter
