The verdict is in...

It's a BOY!!

We had our "big" ultrasound this afternoon, we're excited that Avery will have a little brother!
It's also a bit exciting because we will save ourselves a ton of money since we have all the boy things, and the seasons will be right on for all the clothes.

The hard part now will be names...we struggle with boy names, so if you're got some good ideas post them...and I may just steal it from you!! :) But seriously...and ideas???

Movement!

I've been definitely feeling the baby move the last 2 weeks or so, but just in the last couple days it's been getting stronger. And last night Andy felt it too!! We were pretty excited about that, it was kickin' up a storm while Andy's hand was on my belly, it was really cool!
And we get to find out what this little one is in less than a week!! Yay!!

That's about all our exciting news this week, we've been having fun with my mom in town. Avery doesn't seem to like her much so that makes me feel bad!
Also, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) yesterday, so it'll be interesting figuring out what the next step is, and I'm hoping with treatments and other options I will be able to function normally! Wish me luck!!
We're all going to visit my brother this weekend, so that will be fun. I'll blog with pictures some time when I have time!

I love Warheads..

This is what I've been craving (and giving into) this week. I love these little sour candies...I just wish they'd stay sour longer!! I have to make myself stop eating them when my mouth starts getting raw...but I still want more!
I actually made a special trip to the store to stock up on them. I love them. A lot.
Also, I love Dr. Pepper...but I crave that when I'm NOT pregnant, so I don't think that counts as a true pregnancy craving! But it's good.

Valentine Fun!

Happy Day after Valentine's Day!!!

Yesterday was nice. The end. Just kidding!! : )

I made Andy a fruit bouquet with chocolate dipped strawberries, grapes and pineapple. I got the idea from this website, and I think it turned out pretty cute.
I made it as a surprise and Avery and I took it to him at work. It was fun, and he loved it! But really, who doesn't love chocolate dipped fruit!?


It was harder that I thought it would be to find Avery a Valentine shirt, there were tons everywhere for girls but the boys were shafted. Again. Why is it that the girls get all the cute festive stuff and boys are ignored!? I finally found him a shirt that said "My Mom loves me this much!" with a heart with arms stretched out. I figured it was good enough, it had a heart on it and talked about love! :)


I made a big dinner for us, green bean casserole, cheesy potatoes, salad and steak. At about 4:45 there was a knock on the door, and knowing Andy wouldn't be home from work for another 20 minutes or so I wondered who it was. When I opened it there were 4 teens dressed in their choir/dance uniforms. They had roses and said they were delivering them and a message from Andy, then they sang me a couple love songs! It was so cute and sweet, and I was totally surprised that Andy did that and managed to keep it a secret for a couple weeks!! And no one had ever done that for me before, it was so sweet!!


After we enjoyed out yummy dinner (I really love steak!!) we probably played with Avery for a while, but he went to bed early, he's coming down with a cold. Then we watched The Wedding Planner and had banana spits and we both fell asleep on the couches at 9:30 or so! Lazy, I know!!

It was a great day though, and I'm so grateful for Andy and all the wonderful, nice things he does for me and how hard he works to provide for our little family. I can't wait for the next 50 plus years (hopefully way more!) we get to be together, and I feel so lucky to be able to spend eternity with him!!

Oh, and my Mom is coming to visit!! I'm so excited!! She's coming next week, my grandparents will be in town for my great uncles birthday so it'll be a party, and then my Mom is staying longer so we can hang out. I haven't seen her since August, so I'm really excited!!!

Random Avery cuteness...

Avery is getting to be such a funny little guy!
When we're playing or just "talking" sometimes he'll laugh after babbling something and I'll tell him he's so funny. Well the last couple of days he'll come up to me babble, giggle and then say "funny!". It's seriously the cutest thing! He sometimes says it when I laugh at something too. It's hilarious!!

Something else that's pretty funny is whenever we change a dirty diaper we spray air freshener in the living room or febreeze...anything I can find that will make it smell better! Anyway, when we spray something he says "mmm, candy!". It's so funny!!

He's a crack up, it's so fun to be around him!!!

Sewing Spree!

I've been in a sewing/crafting mood the last could weeks. So...here are some pictures of some of the things I've made in the last 2 weeks.

#1 - Quilt Top (now I need to get the backing, batting and binding done, I think I'll just tie it, since I don't actually know how to quilt!) It's not perfect...so don't look too close!!

#2 - Valentine wreath, Thanks to Robyn for the idea!

#3 - Reusable grocery bags, I use them for library bags though, I've yet to actually use them from groceries, but for some reason I love making them, I have 3 total!

#4 - Polka Dot Tote/Purse, I love bags...and this one can fit my stuff and still a diaper and wipes


And amazingly I've been able to do all this AND keep my family fed and my house clean!!
I decided I needed a plan for house cleaning so it didn't seem so overwhelming, so I made myself a job chart. So I do the "normal" things every day and just a few extra things a day, it makes it SO much less overwhelming!
My kitchen has stayed REALLY clean ALL week! The rest of the hose has too, it's so great.
We'll see how I do over the weekend, I'm hoping to keep it up. It's so nice to have a clean house and still be able to sew and so extra things and not feel like I should be doing something else!

Thar She Blows!!

A couple people asked for this...So here's my first belly picture this pregnancy!
Here I am at 17 weeks. So far everything has been great, I only had very slight morning sickness for about 2 weeks, not bad!! And to date I've gained about 5 pounds, so I'm not terribly disappointed there either. I've also started to get my energy back, which is great I've been able to get stuff done around the house a bit more and work on some sewing/craft projects that I've been wanting to do. I think I've felt the baby move, but I'm not 100% sure, so I'm waiting patiently to feel it for sure!
We go in on the 27th of this month to find out the gender, we're way excited! We both kind of want a girl, but realize that a boy would be easier and cheaper since we already have all the boy clothes. I guess we'll see in a few weeks!

Ouch!

I mopped today (yay me!) so I had the dining room chairs in the living room while the floor dries. Avery was jumping around on the couch and fell forward hitting his cheek on the edge of one of my chairs! It looks so nasty!!
These pictures don't do his black eye justice. : ) The swelling has gone down, now it's just a nasty purple bruise. But he just looked so cute and sad I had to snap a few shots.

"Wii" - Haw!

Okay, so the Wii is so fun! We got one last night and played a few games, I totally whooped Andy at bowling. Are the scores realistic...? No way, I'm no where as good in real life as I was last night! : )
One game I actually bowled a 191! That's probably about 100 points higher than I could really get.
Andy did beat me at Golf...I was struggling with that one!
We also downloaded Super Mario...oh yeah, I'm lovin' it.
