Cookies for breakfast anyone?

This is what I walked into this morning, a couple times actually.
Bad that I didn't stop it sooner? maybe. Adorable. yes.
He got two cookies eaten and chocolate melted all over his face before I got the gate up and thwarted him from eating the rest! He sure does love cookies!
He tried to offer me one, as if that would make it okay that he was eating them all!

19 days...

And my baby will be 2!! Where has the time gone!?

I was reading Danielle's blog about her little girl turning 1 tomorrow and how it's sad and exciting at the same time to watch them grow. Which I think most parents would agree with! I certainly miss the days when Avery was a baby and would sleep in my arms, watching him experience new and sometimes not so good tasting foods, watching him sleep while swaddled in a little blanket, or when he couldn't talk...!
(his new favorite phrase is "No, not right now" which is cute, but he actually thinks if he says that he doesn't have to go to bed, clean up, or whatever it is I am asking him to do!)

But at the same time that it is sad to think of my baby growing up and becoming his own person, thinking on his own and not needing me for as much, it's so exciting to watch him learn new things. It's amazing to me how much he remembers now, and how he puts sentences together on his own, he does less of the mimicking when he talks now and more his own thing, which is hilarious sometimes. I can't wait each day to hear what he has to say.
I love taking him up to bed, and when we get to his room he knows we're going to read scriptures and pray, and he loves it. I love hearing him point to pictures of Jesus and know who it is, or that he recognizes men in suits as the prophet.
And it melts my heart when he tells me he loves me, or says a prayer (which is a new thing, but very fun and adorable), and I love when he asks me to "huggle" with him, or just sit down and play on the floor with him and his "fat boys" (aka, little tykes people)

So although it's sad to know that one day he won't want to kiss me or hold my hand in public (hopefully these won't happen for a LOOONG time yet!!), it's amazing to me that he's mine and that I get to watch, and be a part of, all the wonderful things that he's learning every day, and for now at least he thinks I'm pretty much the greatest person ever! So I'll take that, and hope that e never changes his mind and continues to think I'm pretty great.

Wedding invite tag

So, again, I don't know Tib...but I "frequent" her blog. She did a fun thing where she posted her wedding announcement, I thought it would be a fun thing to do...mine's a little blurry because I don't have a scanner and had to take a picture of it.
I absolutely loved my announcements, I love the square shape and the wording and the paper it was on...love it. I sometimes wish I could get married again (to Andy of course!) so I could do all the fun wedding stuff!

Here it is...and a picture of us on our wedding day!

Let's see yours!

Toddler bed success!

We got Avery a toddler bed about a week and a half ago, we've put it off for a while because I' was afraid of how awful I was expecting it to be! We tried it out for the first time Sunday night and we haven't had any problems! He doesn't get out of it, he sleeps just as long and he likes to talk about it! It's has been easier than I think it should be! And he doesn't have any problems with it (so far) for his afternoon naps either! This is great!
Maybe it's just the first couple days...and soon he'll hate it, who knows! I hope he keeps loving it! I thought for sure it would take a couple weeks and lots of tears to get used to it!!
That's my exciting news for the week!

Blog slacking

I feel like such a blog slacker!
We were in Cedar City this past weekend visiting my brother and his family, it was a lot of fun hanging out and playing games! (we played Settler's a lot...!) We attempted to wash our cars since the weather was so nice, but after washing our van in the driveway we discovered that the water spout thing was leaking all over the drywall in the garage and making it mushy, so we didn't make it to washing Silas' car! We did hang out outside for quite a while though, it was so nice! I got a nice burn that quickly faded and is the beginnings of my summer tan! :)

We also headed down to Hurricane on Saturday evening to spend some time with some of Andy's family that was in town for a great aunts funeral. It was fun meeting some of his aunts and uncles I've never met before. It certainly was convenient for us that we were already planning on being down in Southern Utah for the weekend!
Andy's mom flew in for the funeral and stayed for a couple days to visit so we had a nice family dinner last night at Andy's brother Mike's house.

Now we have a few days to relax and get ready for camping on Friday! But we are all feeling MUCH better! Andy thinks he just has some mild allergies.
