July...I hardly remember that far back.
We celebrated the 4th with Sarah's family (minus Kevin) at our place, our yard is perfectly situated to watch the city fireworks, so after we did a few of our own small fireworks we moved out blankets and chairs to the front yard and watched the show. We also watched the parade and went to our ward pancake breakfast. It was a busy, but still fun, day!
Our boys birthdays are just a few weeks apart so we have a combined party for them each year (as long as they don't complain I foresee this going on for as long as we can pull it off!), this year we went with a lego theme. They had t-shirts, we played pin the head on the lego guy, had a lego block guessing game, a lego guy cutout for photo ops, and lots of fun. The boys were spoiled, and I think all of the guests had a good time. Also, I love birthday parties :)
Jack turned 5!! We love this energetic, sweet, shy, curly headed little boy!
Then it was vacation time! We haven't taken a real, out of state, vacation since we moved to Missouri. So we were very excited to be visiting family in Colorado and Utah. Even if it was a pretty quick trip. We stoped in Colorado first for a day to stay the night at my sister's house and hang out with them for a bit the next day. The boys had fun getting to play with their cousins again after a long time apart. And I had fun visiting with my sister, of course!
After our short time in Denver we headed to Southern Utah to stay at my brother Silas' house and attend Andy's family reunion. We had so much fun, and only wish we could have stayed longer. We went to parks, multiple DI's (!!!!!), played games, stayed up late, went swimming, went to a green show at the Shakespearean festival, held baby Molly (!!), and again the kids just went right on playing with cousins as if they'd never been apart. I love family.
Andy's family reunion was fun, I was glad we were able to go. His grandparents hadn't met Nora and we hadn't seen some of those family members in years. It was a good time!
In Northern Utah we went to the zoo, BYU campus, visited with my Uncles (2 greats, and 1 regular?? :) ), and drove around showing the boys some of our favorite places, places we used to live and places we used shop, where Andy proposed to me, you know, we forced them to come along on our trip down memory lane :) I wish we'd had a couple more days to visit that area, maybe in another 3 years we'll make it back?
Then the trip, and the month, ended. We came back home to get ready for school to start, Andy had to go back to work and we had to get back to real life. That's always hard after a trip, but it was a good month with lots of fun packed into it!
