I spy...
Tonight we moved Jack into a toddler bed. For the last 5 months or so he's been sleeping in a portable crib. He's slowly been outgrowing it, and the mattress sure doesn't seem very comfy. And he can climb out of it anyway.
Maybe that was better than what we went through tonight. He played in his room, pulled the curtain down and even ripped up a book. Punk.
When we finally went and checked on him this is how we found him. Cute.
I hope it gets easier. When Avery started sleeping in a regular bed it was much easier...just another way our boys are very different! :)

Out of town guests
We've been pretty lucky since we moved here to have lots of our Utah family come visit, it's made the transition a little easier, seeing all the familiar faces in our new (and old) home.
A couple weeks ago Andy's brother Mike came out from Utah with his kids. The boys loved having kids to play with all the time.
And we really enjoyed hanging out with everyone, and all the yummy food. Food is almost always better when family is visiting!
One day we all headed down to Liberty and went to Liberty Jail and then to see a movie.
Avery thought he was pretty cool hanging out with the big kids. They're all so good with him though, he's very lucky to have such nice, fun and attentive cousins.
While the kids were all sitting down the sister missionary asked them to sing I Am A Child of God, I think some of the older kids weren't very into that so it ended up pretty much being Avery singing a solo. He did very well, it was pretty cute! The other kids mumbled very nicely too! :)
The boys are always a little sluggish, maybe even bored, when family leaves. Lucky for them we'll have some more kids coming in a couple weeks. Andy's sister Michelle and her 2 boys will be here for a visit, we're excited to see them again!
Then it's really back to normal!

Jack's parties
Yes, parties. Lucky boy.
First Avery, Jack and I had a special mini-party on Jack's actual birthday.
We blew up balloons, made homemade party hats, played "tape woody on bullseye" and ate applesauce. It was fun, and the boys loved it. :)

Then last night we had a family party at Steve and Mica's (someday we'll have our own house and won't have to invade family members houses for our parties).
Jack was spoiled, he loved his cupcake and playing with cousins.
Even if it was a million degrees outside.
And now we're done throwing birthday parties until next summer!

Happy birthday Jack!
Today our "baby" turned 2! Is 2 still a baby?
He's so fun, and crazy. He copies everything Avery says and does, he makes giant messes and is very curious. We love when he closes his eyes and turns his head to ignore us, and when he runs around shouting "to infinity and beyond!"

It's hard to believe he started out so tiny (as of today he weighs 26 pounds), we sure do love him and all his craziness and can't wait to see what else he comes up with.
Jack, today, July 15th 2010. Our big 2 year old!

Far West breakfast
This morning we went to the Far West Temple Site for the annual Fourth of July breakfast and program.
As part of the festivities they had a small children's parade, it was a pioneer themed so I made Avery a covered wagon to wear in the parade. I think it turned out pretty awesome, and he loved it.
Josh even wore it around for a while.
It was a nice relaxing morning...now we're getting ready for the wild and crazy family get together at my sister's house.
Happy 4th of July!

videos
Jack is really loud when he takes drinks. It's pretty hilarious.
Avery loves to sing, and he learns songs pretty quickly. Here he is singing "Teach me to walk in the light".
