First - At church today one of our home teachers approached me to see when they could home teach us. When I suggested a few times and he didn't seem terribly interested in he cleverly suggested we just have our home teaching appointment in the church building right after the third hour...weird. So we did.
One word, awkward.
Seriously.
Who does that? We live 2 blocks from the building, would it kill them to come over right after? we waited about ten minutes after church, our home teacher found a room, and we chatted there. It was really weird. Especially since the one that has been our home teacher the longest has actually only come over twice over the last 8 months or so.
So it's not even like we're buddies. Anyway, it was pretty much the most awkward, weird home teaching visit ever. AND...he called Jack a girl...WHAT?
FYI - I have nothing against our home teachers, they're nice. I just thought it was a weird set up. Lets not do it again.
Second - Tonight we were just chillin', when I heard Avery put one of his toys (the joker from a cereal box) in time out. When I asked him what the joker did to be put in time out he responded
"The Joker didn't listen to me!"
Bad Joker...
But at least now I know Avery hears what I say...if only he'd listen to me!
Third - Jack Bauer just broke someone's neck with his leg...I think Andy almost fainted.
(Not because of being faint of heart...but because of his massive crush on Jack Bauer)

I'm pretty sure the reason they are HOME teachers is because they are suppose to get into the home and see what is going on. I agree, weird.
I've never had anyone do that to me before... that's crazy! I've had everyone and their sister want to do everything on Sunday... THAT gets on my nerves. I don't think you're supposed to cram all those visits in on a Sunday... that just doesn't seem right to me... PLUS in the building?! Bizarre.
Oh, and I've had people call Wesley a girl... oh! Yeah... it was a nurse, and Wesley was all bundled up in a BLUE blanket, and she kept calling him a girl. I kept emphasizing the HE whenever I talked, but she STILL kept calling him a girl.
Ya I am not a fan of home/visiting teaching at the church after meetings. Seriously could you feel any less loved by them sqeezing you in after church so they can count it. I'm not a fan. Poor little Jack. I'll tell you he looks like a boy! But hey...atleast you have home teachers. We've had ours for over a year and the only time we heard from them was a phone call after the hurricane...it was a very awkward phone call.
I would say I am shocked, but sadly I'm not! (About the home teacher thing) I know that has happened with at least VT that I know of. Very strange, especially since you live so close! That's like saying you don't care about someone enough to drive a minute somewhere. Sheesh. Don't they know how awful that looks?!?
I didn't have VTs for months and months when I first moved in, even though I asked for them when the RS Presidency visited me. I told that to a girl in our ward and she was like "I had them right away! I was like who are these people?". I didn't say anything, but I wanted to say.."yes dear, but you are the bishop's daughter in law!"
Of course, I would probably rather not have them come than to visit in church. How awful!
The HT is such a bum. It's takes no time at all to just have a quick visit at someone's home. Talk about lazy!
I love hearing about Andy's man crush! Also, I love it when my kids say things that I say (like the time out thing)because then I think maybe something is getting in their crazy little heads.
Hey, Kizzie!
Maybe next time you could say, "Thanks for offering, but we already have CHURCH teachers. We'd prefer a HOME teacher."
Although I guess that would be rude. It's fun to think of saying it, though.
