After Easter weekend Andy went back to work but Avery still had 2 more days of spring break so we hungout with Sarah's family. We went to a place down in the city called Kaleidoscope. I believe it's run by Hallmark, it's a free place for kids to do crafts. They can make bookmarks, puzzles, and lots of other random things to craft with. We spent a couple hours there, the kids loved it. I think Jack was a little overwhelmed by all the fun things, so I had to pawn Nora off to Kevin so I could chase (literally) Jack around the entire time. It was just too much fun! : )
We also hit up a free jungle playground at crown center before we headed home. All in all it was a fun day. The kids (and me!) were exhausted when we got home!
We definitely want to go back with Andy!

Easter
Easter was nice this year. Avery had his school spring break over Easter weekend and Andy decided to take a couple days off work as well so we could all be together. It was fun hanging out, being lazy and running all our errands together. We went to Fun Run on the first day of spring break, then had a family bbq, Easter egg hunt, Jerusalem dinner with my family and Easter dinner at Andy's parents. So it was kind of a busy spring break. But fun.
The boys loved the egg hunt at Steve and Mica's and came home with lots of treats. We did choose to leave the majority of their finds at Steve's. We didn't need all that candy around!
Easter morning was kind of rushed since we have 9 o'clock church, but the boys had fun finding their baskets.
The real challenge was taking a picture of all 3 kids. Not an easy task :)
The Dentist
I hate the dentist. It's nothing personal, I just hate going. I have a very sensitive mouth and very much dislike them poking around in there. However I didn't want to let the boys know that for fear that they'd be scared to go, etc. So for their sake when I made their appointments I was really excited for them telling them how awesome and easy it would be. Thankfully for them it was awesome and easy.
They were amazing, I just feel bad I waited so long to take them. Bad mom, I know.
Avery went first, I was worried about him going because he seems to be afraid of a lot and is easily traumatized. So I was extra excited and smiley when I took him. He didn't need it though, he was awesome. They were so impressed with him as a first time patient and made him feel so special, he loved it. We did find out that he had one little cavity (enter horrible feelings of guilt on my part!), but when we went back to have it filled he didn't complain or cry or anything! He opened his little mouth and let them drill away! Why can't he be like that when I ask him to pick up his dirty laundry...?? I'm not even holding a drill!
Jack went a couple weeks after Avery and I was worried about him for different reasons. Both my boys have such different personalities so I had to switch my worry to him biting someone or running around the dentist office knocking things over. Thank goodness neither of those things happened. He had a very similar experience to Avery, he was perfect. Following directions, keeping his mouth open, counting his teeth with the dentist, charming the dental assistant. Now if he would stop growling at people...
no cavities for Jack though, yay!
They both love their new toothbrushes and the new friends they made at the dentist. Lets hope their experiences are the same in 6 months!

In March we...
...went on a spring walk at Wallace State Park
...went to the Cameron St. Patrick's Day parade with Sarah's family
...played Frisbee golf for FHE...in our back yard!
...went to Avery's very first Kindergarten music program
...played spider man operation!
...picnicked outside
March was good.
