The boys got some stylin' suits for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Westover, we had to wait for them to be able to wear them til we got them black dress shoes. So Sunday was the first time they were able to wear them. They looked SO handsome, I think they'll be wearing these a lot! : )

Sleepy Tuesday
There's some extra tired stuff in the air at our house today -
Jack fell asleep on the couch at 10:30 and slept til noon, he usually takes his nap at noon...and doesn't actually sleep.
Nora and I slept in the recliner in her room while Jack napped and Andy was able to sneak a little rest in on his lunch break with little miss.
Early bedtime later??? (Please?!)

Road block
He has a bedroom, a toy room, a family room, and even the living room at his disposal to play in. Yet he chooses the hallway to be his base for toys today. Thanks, Jack.

Pictures of Miss Nora
Here are some pictures of little miss Nora. She's so lucky to have a big brother that likes to share all his toys with her, we just hope she doesn't get smothered! Also, she has some fierce squish faces, it's pretty cute : ) Also, we have lots of pink in our house now!

#3 - aka Nora Jane Westover
So, we had a baby last week. Don't let the lack of blog posts about her fool you, she's not neglected. She's actually quite spoiled. Surprise. We've spent the last week since she was born being so lazy (it's been awesome!) that I haven't gotten around to doing much of anything. Andy has been awesome, he took the whole week off and has been letting me do nothing while he takes care of the house, the kids and me. I'm sad he's going back to work tomorrow, but trying not to think about it yet!
Because of a tiny bit of high blood pressure, contractions for several weeks and major amounts of discomfort, my Doctor had mercy on me and scheduled me to be induced on my due date, December 30th. So Friday morning we headed to the hospital at about 7:30. I was hooked up to everything by 9:30 and was waiting for my epidural. I got my epidural at 10:30, the doctor on call broke my water at 1pm and guessed the baby wouldn't be born til early evening. But to all our surprise Nora Jane was born at 2:02pm.
Funny story. After the doctor broke my water and gave her time prediction I sent Andy out to feed himself. He hadn't eaten all day and we figured we were in for the long haul. About 10 or 15 minutes after he left I started feeling like it was time to get this baby out. So I sent him a text and asked him to come back. Now. Then I sent him a few more texts and called him to make sure he was getting the texts. Maybe I was freaking out a little, but with good reason. He got back, the nurse checked my progress, called the doctor in and about 15ish minutes after Andy got back Nora was born. It was a little crazy. I'm glad that he made it in time, but his food was cold by the time he got to eat it. oops.
Nora weighed in at 5 pounds 12.5 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. She's teeny tiny but surprisingly round. Her little cheeks are perfect little chubby things. We love her round face and dark hair. She's smaller than we were expecting (I was just a little paranoid she was going to be a mammoth baby, don't know why!) so she only has about 3 or 4 little sleepers she can wear right now. She's perfect.
The boys also love her. They've been really great with her. Jack likes to share his toys with her and kiss her and hold her. He's so gentle with her, which is a pleasant surprise. If you've met Jack you know how...energetic he is. So I was a little worried, but he's so nice and careful with Nora. It's adorable.
Both boys love to have a turn with Nora laying in their beds when we say family prayer at night, I just love how much they love her!

Christmas morning
Christmas morning at our house was probably much like everyone else's Christmas morning. We got up and dug into the stockings, read the Christmas story from the Bible and opened presents. We may have eaten breakfast...I can't quite remember! That's what the goodies in the stockings are for, right?!
Christmas is just so much fun with kids, I loved hearing the boys shout (with glee?) "I always wanted one of these!" and other things like that as they opened every gift. This year the boys got lots of super hero/x-men toys. They're really into x-men right now. Don't worry there were plenty of star wars themed gifts sprinkled in there too.
After opening our presents we got ready for church, which was nice. Lots of pretty music and good talks. Then we got to be lazy with family the rest of the day! It was a great Christmas, and we were all spoiled!

Christmas Eve 2011
This year our family group is much, much smaller than we're used to. We had a miniscule 19 people at our Aitchison Christmas Eve gathering. Andy and I hosted it at our house, it was nice. And quiet! Some people played video games, we chatted, ate. A lot. sang Christmas carols and opened gifts. We had so much yummy food, I think none of us are quite used to the smaller number of people at our family gatherings. We easily had enough for the whole gang! We missed everyone who wasn't here and look forward to having everyone back together again someday.
