...that's what Jack has said several times already this morning.
This morning when I got the boys out of their room Jack ran out really fast into our room and told us that thunder scares him. (It's been storing since early early morning) He is our non-cuddly boy but climbed right into bed and asked if he could lay with us. It was so cute, he just wanted to cuddle up to me and stay there, and every time he heard thunder he covered his eyes with his fists. Sad, but very cute.
He's currently eating breakfast and every time there is thunder he whimpers and covers his eyes. Poor boy, but lucky me. He wants me to sit with him and cuddle. A rarity that I will be taking advantage of today!

Lights!
We bought some new light fixtures. One for the hall bathroom and a new fan for the kitchen.
The bathroom light was super easy, we got it up in no time. with just a minor delay when Jack smacked his face, that took priority. I don't have a before picture, but the old fixture was super ugly and dated. It was one of the white glass balls hanging from a chain. It was bad. We like this much better, it goes with the bathroom decor and the year better. :)
The kitchen fan was a little more complicated, we dealt with broken ceiling, screws that were the wrong size, something else...finally we got it up, and we love it. The lighting is better than the old fixture (which was one of those tiny half circle thing up on the ceiling, so having the fan bring the light lower is so nice. And we love ceiling fans, they come in handy during the summer.
I don't really have a 'before' picture, but you can tell in this one that there is obviously no fan hanging from the ceiling.
After, with our pretty fan.
It only took up 2 weeks or so to finally get it up after we took the old light down, so I'm especially glad to have a light in my kitchen again...you can imagine what a pain it is to clean and prepare food whit no light! :) Maybe that's why it's been so messy...

Brotherly love
Every night we like to go in and check on the boys before we go to bed, we've pretty much been doing this since Avery was born. It's always one of my favorite parts of the night! They're always so cute, and especially when they climb into bed together.
The other night this is what they looked like -
It reminded me of this (Feb 2009)

I love that our boys are such good friends. We can hear them talking for hours (literally) after they are in bed, when one wakes up from naps before the other they just wander around til the other wakes. They love each other, and I love that. I hope they will always be close.

More on Jack's face : )
Saturday night while Andy and I were preparing for dinner and putting up light fixtures Jack started crying. When I went out to ask what happened Avery immediately said "I didn't do anything!".
Turns out Jack had been running around like crazy (normal, unfortunately!) and tripped and face planted into the fireplace. Our fireplace is mean, unforgiving brick.
After I let him cry on my shoulder for a minute I pulled him away and noticed his face was twice the size it normally was! After lots of cuddling, ice packing, screaming (on Jack's part) and singing songs he calmed down. After a while he was up and playing somewhat normally. His face was still huge though, but he seemed fine, no blood, he could still see (thank goodness).
The next morning his face was even worse, his eye was swollen almost completely shut and his cheek was even bigger that the night before. We almost thought about keeping him home from church. It was that bad.

Over the last few days the swelling has continued to go down, but the coloring has gotten worse. He does have a very pretty shade of purple decorating his face. We get lots of questions at the store, and pretty much everywhere we go. Thankfully we haven't gotten any dirty looks, it really was the fireplace! He's doing fine though, it's still tender so he doesn't like to have his face washed, but we're hopeful he'll be back to his non-swollen, normal colored face soon!

Jack: 0 - Fireplace: 1
Last night the boys were running around being crazy. Pretty normal. :) Suddenly I heard Jack crying and Avery saying "I didn't do anything!" (this time he was right, sometimes I'm not so sure) Jack had fallen into the fireplace while running in circles in the living room. His face swelled up pretty big, but he seemed to be mostly fine. A little bit of ice, ibuprofen and some cuddling and he was playing again.
I thought his face looked bad last night...then I got him out of bed this morning and the poor baby could barely open his eye! He still seems to be doing fine, we're just trying to get the swelling to go down.
We now have a "no running by the fireplace" rule...we'll see how long that lasts.
