Last night I met up with some of the girls from MC for dinner! It was so fun!
I'm always surprised (not quite sure why!) at how much fun I have when I get together with MC-ers! It was so fun to see some I'd already met and meet some new people!
I certainly didn't think that we'd stay and chat for 3 hours! But when 10 o'clock rolled around I didn't want to go home! It was so good talking to other adults, it was a much needed break from my "conversations" with Avery which consist of blowing raspberries and doing other things I'd DIE if anyone saw/heard me! :) It was really nice, we should make it a monthly occurrence!
I've really been enjoying getting out of the house without Avery (I LOVE Avery...sometimes daddy just needs some alone time with him!!! :) ), even it it's just going to the Farmer's Market every week. It makes me feel like an adult when I get out and socialize. Don't get me wrong I love staying at home and being with Avery, I wouldn't change that for the world. but sometimes I swear I feel myself getting dumber! I guess Sesame Street just doesn't cut it for me!
There are play groups that go on around here, but I'm usually not very motivated to go to them!
but after dinner last night I think I'll think about going to play dates and such more often! We'll see if it actually happens!!
Thanks for the good company!!!

Ta-da!
Not only is "Ta-da!" the newest word Avery says a lot, but look what I did!!!! :)
Drum roll please......

TA-DA!!

I painted our dining room table and chairs (obviously!) to match our kitchen. It really brightens up the room and makes it look so happy! I love it! I started painting the chairs in June...but I decided I REALLY needed to finish it all before we leave next week. I'm SO glad I did, I'm really in love with my table and chairs!! :)
Here's a before picture...well, from the catalog! I forgot to take a picture before I starting painting! oops! Thank goodness for the internet!!

Kisses anyone?
Avery LOVES giving kisses. It's adorable! He opens his mouth as wide as it will go, so you can see his little fangs and plants a big wet one right on your lips! Sometimes I think he gets a little confused and we'll get a kiss-bite combo, but it's so sweet.
When he wants to give someone a kiss he starts smacking his little lips together. He also wants in on the action if he sees other people kiss. If he sees Andy and me kiss he starts smacking his lips and he wants a kiss from each of us. Sometimes we kiss just so he'll want to kiss us. It's a fun game. Really I think it's about the most adorable thing in the entire world!
I can't wait to show off his new tricks to all our family in Missouri!!
He's so great. Really. He does so many cute things! He growls at ALL animals! Lions, dogs, birds, mice, anything. I don't even know where he learned it, one day he just started growling.
He also has learned how to climb on furniture. He loves to climb on and off the bed that's in his room, and the couch. He's really good at getting off without bonking himself too badly! He just loves to climb up on the couch and roll around, he actually cries when I put him down! He'd be happy just sitting with us on the couch all the time!
He also cries if I make him come inside, he loves it outside(he gets that from me)! I usually take him out 2 times a day, it's too hot for more than that! Usually I just follow him while he walks back and forth on the side walk in front of our house, or down the street. He carries our little garden spade with him everywhere and cries when we come in! It's really cute, then he just stands at the window crying!
And the last thing (for now!) that is SO cute is when he drinks out of a cup or water bottle. First off, he is in love with water! He'll drink it all day if I let him. I don't know how he can possibly be thirsty that often! Every time I give him a drink it's like he's never tasted it before! Anyway, he just looks absolutely adorable drinking out of a regular cup, he's so little and the cups are about the size of his head! When he's drank what's in the cup he holds it one hand and stretches his arm straight out and whatever he says means "please" or "more" I think...it sounds like he's saying "eh, eh". It's very cute.
I could probably go on and on about the fun things he does, but I'll spare you the details. It's really amazing to me how fast he's becoming his own little person. I just feel so lucky to be his mom! Now if he'd just stay little, he's just getting big too fast!
We're leaving for Missouri in a week and a half! I'm SO excited!! The original plan was to leave on the 22nd, early in the morning. But Andy's work schedule has changed and we're just too dang excited, so we're leaving on the evening of the 20th! Well...closer to the EARLY morning of the 21st. We'll leave when Andy gets off work at 11. I'm so excited, it'll be so fun to visit!
In other news, I'm painting our dining room table and chairs red, to match our kitchen/dining area. The chairs are all painted and finished and they look so cute! Now on to the table! I'll take pictures when it's all done and looking good!
Also, I went to the first week of the Farmer's Market last week. And I sold $60 worth of stuff, so that's cool. I'm going to keep doing it, it's fun and gives me something to do in my spare time.
This post wasn't supposed to be this long! oops! :)
If you make it through, good for you...or thanks, I guess!
