Improvements

I have an awesome brother who spent his vacation fixing my moldy shower and tiling it. It was the crummy cheap plastic shower walls before, it was separating from the wall and there was water getting behind it, it was nasty. Here are some pictures of the process. I LOVE it tiled, it's so much nicer. We even suckered him into switching out a bathroom faucet for us, he didn't even complain. (to my face anyway) I love home improvements...especially the ones I can get someone else to do for me! Thanks Josiah!!

Big helper

This is what happens when Jack decides to help restock the diapers in the living room. His motto is go big or go home...
Thanks Jack.

Valentine's Day

Avery was home from school on Valentine's Day, he had a massive double ear infection. Poor guy, he was home for about a week and a half sick! I decided to make it a fun day since he was missing his class Valentine's Day party at school. Though his awesome teacher stopped by with all his goodies from classmates, he was so excited to still get valentines.

They played out in the snow, we haven't gotten much snow this winter (NOT complaining!) so I feel like I have to let them get out in it when it does snow. They had a blast playing on the deck then venturing into the yard. I heard some friendly snowball fights going on...and some not so friendly. Oh well. Boys.

We made and decorated sugar cookies, they were supposed to be for Andy, but the boys had a little too much fun licking the knives and decorating-wiping frosting off-and redecorating their cookies so I decided not to put Andy through the experience of the "you don't know where their hands have been" cookies. because we do know where those little hands have been and we want none of that. None.
Nora and the boys were sporting Valentine colored clothes. You can't especially tell Jack was wearing anything festive because he loves to wear his hoody everywhere. He did look very cute in his red cowboy hat though. Nora was getting quite the work out, the bow on her head was easily almost as big as her little noggin...but it was too cute to pass up. I love my little valentines!

Every year Andy and I do a little "doorbell ditch" valentine treat for the kids. They loved it this year, and couldn't figure out who would leave treats for them, it was cute to see the boys run for the door squealing every time the doorbell rang. Even Nora gave a little smile when her Hello Kitty treat arrived.

We had a good Valentine's Day this year, we relaxed at home and ate yummy food. I hope we're providing good memories for our kids, even if it is a holiday made up for stores to make more money. : )

Nap time

Some days I accept Nora's nap time any way it decides to happen! She's excellent about sleeping in her crib for naps, except in the late afternoon. Leaving during normal nap time to pick Avery up form school throws her off. Which makes the afternoon more difficult for the rest of us. So she gets to nap wherever she feels like it. As long as it it makes the crying stop! : )

She's really pretty perfect, so I don't feel like I can complain. Mostly I think she's cute sleeping all buried in the couch/pillows/Jack's hoodie. Don't worry, she has plenty of room to breath!

Winter walks

We have had an exceptionally mild winter so far, last week we had several days that were in the 60's, it was awesome. So the boys and I took advantage of the nice weather. We went to the park, we took walks, and played out in the yard.
We took our walks to Andy's office, which is just under a mile. As you can imagine for short little legs that gets to be quite the long walk, so we figured out how to transform our double stroller into a triple! :) It worked, the little legs got the break they needed...and my arms got quite the work out!
We hope to have some more nice non-winter days...we'll see if we're that lucky!

Birth announcement

No, this blog is not becoming a "Nora blog"...I know I have 2 other kids, I promise. And they do adorable things every day. They also talk back, fight with each other, tattle on each other and make giant messes they don't want to clean up. I don't blog about messes.  : )

But I'll blog about my adorable boys soon. Because they really are adorable!

This is the birth announcement we sent out after Nora was born, I saw one like this on pinterest that I liked so I pretty much copied it. I'm not super original, it's easier borrowing other peoples ideas. We mailed these out as post cards with a picture of Nora on the backside.

Blessing Day

Nora was blessed today in Sacrament meeting, she wore the same blessing gown that I wore when I was blessed, Grandma (Joleen) Aitchison made it 27ish years ago. Andy blessed her and Grandpa Westover, Uncle Steve, Uncle Kevin, Jeremy Hoyle, Scott Robison, Bishop Jameson, Brother Terwilleger, and Brother Mayne stood in the circle.

We're so happy to have had so many of our family and friends there to share this special event in little Nora's life. And I'm especially grateful for Andy, that he is worthy and able to bless our little ones. I love getting a glimpse of their potential.
